Beyond Basic Monoprinting With A Gel Plate With Jennifer Love
Event Information
About this Event
Advanced methods of working with stencils and masks; resist or transfer printing using a laser print or magazine page; mark-making directly onto the plate with marker pens: registering multiple layers - these are some of the processes we will cover.
Students will need to bring a gel plate, paper, brayer and paints - a supply list will be provided. Jennifer will bring extra texture items, stencils, stamps and additional paints.
Jennifer creates abstract paintings using collaged hand-painted and printed fabrics or papers. In recent years she has become more and more enthralled with the possibilities inherent in monoprinting with a gel plate, which she combines with a myriad of different techniques and tools to create her unique papers and fabrics. Jennifer has been an artist and teacher for over 40 years. She has taught many workshops on the Sunshine Coast & Vancouver and is scheduled to teach on Vancouver Island and Calgary in 2021. She also exhibits widely. In September 2020, she and Kim LaFave opened their exhibition ‘Dialogue’ at The Hearth Gallery in Bowen Island. And ‘Secret Garden’ opens at the Gibsons Public Market in January 2021.
*Masks and social distancing are required. Hand sanitizer will be provided.
