Successful container gardening depends on the type of planter or pot, and everything that goes in them: What kind of soil, how much water, which fertilizer? These things are often more important than the type of plant. All will be examined in detail.
David Hobson Bio:
David Hobson is a popular speaker at horticultural societies and gardening clubs, where he shares the humour and passion of a lifelong gardener on a light-hearted and informative journey to the heart of gardens. A humorist, storyteller, and photographer, he is the weekly garden columnist for The Waterloo Region Record (print and online), The Guelph MercuryTribune, The Hamilton Spectator online, and a contributor to Grand Magazine and Garden Making magazine. He confesses to filling around a hundred pots and planters every spring.
Heather Rajotte, a Master Gardener, will present a short introduction to growing vegetables in containers.
A Master Gardener will be on hand, before and after the meeting to answer any of your gardening questions.
