Kim's voice soothes and deepens the listener - like making love, moving to jazz, swimming in a clear river. For anyone needing respite and wonder for their weary minds, this offering is a sanctuary." ~ Mark Matousek
JOIN KIM IN CONCERT!
The ancient marriage between poetry and music comes vibrantly alive in Kim Rosen's concerts. Drawing on music that spans the spectrum from world rhythms to soulful melodies, she interweaves spoken poems from her repertoire of around 200 poems by masters such as Rumi, Rilke, and Neruda as well as marvellous contemporary poets. Discover what the mystics, poets and shamans have known for centuries: when you join powerful music with the language of the soul, the experience escapes the mind and gives rise to an "Ahhh!" of pure wonder.
Net proceeds from this benefit concert will be donated to the Ottawa Pathwork Community, which is committed to transmitting practical spiritual wisdom through a step-by-step journey into personal transformation and wholeness, and to the SHE College Fund, started by Kim following her life-changing connection with Kenyan Maasai girls escaping tribal traditions of female genital mutilation (FGM) and early childhood marriage. The Fund supports the education of Maasai girls sheltered at the Tasaru Safe House in Narok, Kenya.
Kim is also offering a two-day The Spoken Heart: Poetry as Awakener, on Saturday and Sunday, October 22 and 23rd at Arts Court. Space is limited! For information and registration, please contact Jan Falls at firstname.lastname@example.org.
