Bhangra is a dance form that originated in Punjab, north of India. Its positive energy is especially important now, during cold weather and lock-down times.
What can you expect from a Bhangra intro class?
An energetic, fun-filled, basic cardio workout!
But you don't have to be an expert or a gym bunny to enjoy Bhangra, simply enjoy the positive vibes and the joy that the the music will bring to your entire body.
You only need yourself and your positive attitude to join this event!
About Gurdeep
Gurdeep Pandher is a Dance teacher and Canadian author born in Siahar village, Ludhiana district, Punjab, India.
Gurdeep is a student himself, a social media sensation, and a Bhangra influencer who has been featured on CBC National, CBC Yukon, CTV National News, Buzzfeed, The Huffington Post, SBS Australia, and many other platforms with his on-going viral Bhangra videos on which he proudly advocates for inclusivity, unity, and joy.
He has written three books, two in English and one in Punjabi. He was the author of Kalpana Chawla's biography, Among the stars!: life and dreams of Kalpana Chawla.
About The UFV Student Union Society
The Student Union Society is a non-profit organization run by students and for students at UFV. Through a body of elected student executives, faculty representatives, hired student staff, and a small group of permanent staff, the SUS is able to offer services to its members, advocate for post-secondary education on their behalf, connect them with student clubs and associations, and provide them with many opportunities to get involved on campus.
We employ over 50 students each semester for various positions as well as numerous volunteer opportunities throughout the year.
