Here's how it works:
This evening event will follow directly after the Big Data Congress on October 20th.
The event will kick off with a set of quick presentations - like speed-dating - where companies and researchers pitch their R&D challenges and expertise.
Companies will present brief (3 minute) overviews of their business, their key challenges or areas of interest, and the type of research expertise they are seeking. A brief networking break will follow.
Then, researchers will provide their own brief (3 minute) presentations on their research interests and expertise, and potential application to industry. Researchers are selected according to the relevance of their expertise to the needs of the companies presenting.
Companies and researchers who have been involved in previous similar events have expressed high value in participating. They cite new ideas, collaborations, funding connections, and R&D projects as some of the benefits. Representatives from R&D funding agencies will be on hand to provide information about their programs and other ways they can provide support.
Whether you are a researcher or company, this event will be a valuable opportunity for introductions, conversations and intelligence-gathering for your next great idea.
If you'd like to do a 3-minute presentation, please let us know. Otherwise, please just register for the event so we can be sure to accommodate all who want to attend.
In addition to the pitching portion of the evening there will also be a funder’s tradeshow at the back of the room where attendees will have a chance to chat with representatives from all funding bodies on the funds available to support potential projects.
Hope to see you there!
