Palette Knife Painting Workshop - LVL 1 : Beginner friendly
Instructor: Jacquelyn Miccolis | Included: 2 hrs of instruction & supplies
During this workshop we will be creating a beautiful ocean wave painting on a round canvas, using acrylic paints and a palette knife as our primary tool. If you have never used a palette knife before, no sweat! we enjoy teaching newbies. This is a beginner class, therefore no previous experience is required.
Be sure to wear some comfortable clothes, that you don't mind getting paint on. However, aprons will be provided to help protect your clothing. During this workshop you will be guided through the steps one at a time with ease . This is a relaxing and recreational class - with zero pressure! We have people from all walks of life join us, in a supportive and friendly atmosphere that welcomes people from all backgrounds to enjoy the therapeutic benefits of art and creativity. There will be a brief break half way through this workshop, so you will be able to stretch your legs and/or grab a drink of water. (We now have a have a large filtered water cooler, so bring a water bottle)
During this workshop you will learn how to:
- Use a palette knife
- Create thin lines using the edge
- Scraping Method
- Dragging/Blending Technique
- Multicolored Palette Paint Strokes
Instructor Bio:
Jacquelyn Miccolis is an Artist and Owner of Sparkles n' Sawdust Studio. Her passion for art and creativity began at an early age and has continued to grow throughout her adult life. As a self taught jewelry designer, she spent several years selling her work - both locally and abroad.
Over the last few years, Jacquelyn began exploring different types of artistic expression. With a love for nature and adventure, she discovered a passion for nature inspired art. Through nature walks, foraging, recording field notes and nature journaling, she began connecting with the world around her on a deeper level.
With a zest for life, Jacquelyn enjoys sharing her love for creativity with others. Her personality can be best described as, energetic, friendly and kind-hearted. She looks forward to having you join her for a fun workshop, that's full of creativity, positivity and lots of laughter!
What can you expect during a workshop at Sparkles n' Sawdust Studio?
- Tri fold plexiglass barriers for each participant & instructor
- Masks are mandatory
- Reduced class size, with no more than 2 participants per workshop
- Thoroughly cleaned and sanitized studio, with no more than 1 class per day
- Wall Mounted Hand Sanitizer
- Zero contact workshops , all of the art supplies is divided up in advance
