Event description

Description

For months now the media has talked about the Minimum Wages going up to $14.00/hour in January 2018. But there are many more changes and costly implications to Business Owners. Bill 148, the Fair Workplace, Better Jobs Act 2017 is the first major change to the Employment Standards Act 2000, since 2017. Education on the changes beyond Minimum Wages is now beginning but there seems to be less attention on the implications to Business Owner. In this interactive session, you as the Business Owner will:

  1. Learn about the proposed legislative changes on Minimum Wages, Equal Pay for Equal Work, Employees vs Independent Contractors, Vacation, Increases in Leaves of Absences, Increased Penalties for Non-Compliance, Increase to number of ESA Officers monitoring compliance
  2. Understand the risk and implications to your Business and your Business Success – on your employees, work culture and your business operations
  3. Identify problems and solutions to address how you will become compliant with the proposed changes

There will be time during the session to really talk about what actions you should be taking at your company to mitigate risks, gain compliance and looking at the changes in your business operations that might take place to address the impacts on employees, work culture and your sales and profit.

Who Should Attend

This seminar is ideal for small to medium size businesses. Attendees who will benefit are start-up and established Small to Medium size Business Owners, office managers and HR staff who want to understand the changes and what it means to their company.
