Description
Dr. Eleonora Redaelli, Associate professor at the School of Planning, Public Policy and Management at the University of Oregon.
This talk provides an overview of an investigation of the arts in American cities; it engages with key issues in urban cultural policy and the arts in American cities. In particular, this presentation unpacks how academia and cities’ administrations have accounted for and acted upon the spatial configuration of the arts at the local level. The theoretical investigation is supported with case studies from Madison, New York, Miami, Berkeley, and Portland. In 2019, her book, Connecting Arts and Place – Cultural Policies in American Cities, was published by Palgrave-MacMillan. This conference is organised by the Centre on Governance’s Cultural Policy Research Network.
This conference will be presented in English.
