Event description

Description

Join us for the workshop of Building Information Modeling for Energy Analysis and to learn more about how to interoperate energy modeling applications with BIM workflow.

This presentation will provide you with an outlook of the information technology gaps between Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Building Energy Modeling (BEM) while interfacing with Geographical Information Systems (GIS).

The architectural/engineering modeling workflow bridges the information divide using a data exchange framework. This information workflow provides a robust integration to overcome data translation pitfalls and explores interoperability scenarios between applications information authoring tools and energy analysis.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Jean Carrière

Educator, Consultant, and Entrepreneur

Jean Carrière works with architects and engineers to implement integrated workflows for productivity, precision and data quality. As an entrepreneur, he pioneered the data exchange framework for exchanging building information model data with energy modeling applications. His journey of discovery leads him to explore new frontiers of technology integration.

He is the President, and CEO of Trailloop, a Certified Engineering Technologist, a technical advisory board member for buildingSMART Canada, and on the board of directors for the Green Building Extensible Markup Language.
