This free workshop will focus on the basics of bird identification near Saskatoon. It is aimed at novice birders.

About this Event

This free workshop will focus on the basics of bird identification and the major bird families found around Saskatoon. It is aimed at novice birders, no experience is required. It should help you identify birds during our upcoming Christmas Bird Counts.

Bring your bird identification field guide or download the free Merlin app onto your smartphone.

Everyone is welcome.

Register in advance. Space is limited.

This workshop is sponsored jointly by the Saskatchewan Breeding Bird Atlas project of Bird Studies Canada and the Saskatoon Nature Society (https://saskatoonnature.org).

Meet in Room 1150, Health Sciences E wing, 107 Wiggins Road, U of S campus in Saskatoon.

(same room used for 2019 Saskatoon Nature Society meetings.)

Parking: Above ground pay parking ($1.50/hour) is available in the lot across street on east side of Wiggins Road (next to observatory).

Underground pay parking ($3.00/hour) is available under building at east end of Clinic Place accessed from Hospital Drive.

Bus: Many routes go to the nearby University Bus Terminal
