About this event

NOTEWORTHY AND RARE BIRDS IN ALBERTA DURING THE PANDEMIC

Speaker: James Fox, co-editor of the Prairie Province Region for North American Birds, and an Alberta eBird reviewer

This presentation will discuss the rare & noteworthy birds observed in Alberta during the covid pandemic. Also learn about North American Birds, a quarterly journal published by the American Birding Association. NAB is a longstanding journal of ornithological record for birders. The journal’s mission is to provide a snapshot & document the ever changing panorama of North America’s bird life. In addition to rare and uncommon birds we document early/late arrivals, population trends, range expansion/contraction, habitat loss, out of range birds, high/low numbers of expected species and even include the occasional interesting aberrant plumaged bird. Join James on February 2nd in a zoom presentation and discuss the great birds and birding trends observed & documented over the last two years.
