FOR AN UNFORGETTABLE HOLIDAY POP-UP DINNER SERIES
Beam Suntory and Bittered Sling partner up for celebrated Bittered Sling Bistro
“Christ-Makkah” pop-up dinners, with two chefs and five of Vancouver’s best bartenders at Railtown’s famed Ask for Luigi Restaurant
VANCOUVER, BC —Bittered Sling’s acclaimed “Bittered Sling Bistro” pop-up restaurant is coming back for one night only. This holiday season, Bittered Sling joins forces with Beam Suntory’s portfolio of premium spirits for the 5th annual Christ-Makkah celebration. For one night only, and two seatings, Bittered Sling’s Chef Jonathan Chovancek combined his talents with Ask for Luigi’s Chef J.C. Poirier for a playful and delicious feast, paired with brilliant cocktails from Vancouver’s award-winning bartenders, Grant Sceney (Fairmont Pacific Rim), Katie Ingram (L’Abattoir), Sabrine Dhaliwal (UVA Wine & Cocktail Bar), David Wolowidnyk (Drinkfixer Hospitality Consulting) and hosted by Bittered Sling’s Lauren Mote. This “twelve” component dinner will prove to be Bittered Sling’s finest Christ-Makkah iteration yet, with surprises, gifts and more.
The December 19 “Christ-Makkah” – held as the “take-over” of Railtown’s award-winning Ask for Luigi Restaurant – is billed as “Twelve Days of Christ-Makkah” with a nod to the twelve components of the dinners, with spirited inspiration stemming from brands Courvoisier Cognac, Knob Creek Bourbon Whiskey, Highland Park Single Malt Scotch Whisky, Canadian Club 100% Rye Whisky and Damrak Gin and of course the entire line-up of Bittered Sling Bitters' expressions.
“Beam Suntory has been a long supporter of the Bittered Sling Bistro bartender pop-up & mentorship programs, and I can’t think of a better way to ring in the holiday season, than with their beautiful spirits, providing inspirations for our all-star line-up of bartenders this year," says award-winning bartender and Bittered Sling co-founder Lauren Mote. “We intend to go all out for this Christ-Makkah pop-up,” says Bittered Sling co-founder and Chef Jonathan Chovancek, “The blend of traditional cuisines, technique and ingredients met with modern approach will be super exciting. Cooking alongside one of my best friends – Chef J.C. Poirier – will also be an amazing honour.”
In addition to the inspired and delicious food and beverage menu, guests will also receive keepsakes and gifts from the event.
