Event description
We want to showcase and highlight the work of Black scholars, artists and community members.

About this Event

The Catalyst at FCAD will be hosting a Black History Month celebration called Black Arts, Culture and Heritage: Panel and Performance on Thursday, February 27, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. It will be a wonderful evening of exciting conversations, exceptional talent and an opportunity to connect with one another and build community.

The event will consist of a 1-hour panel discussion, moderated by Dr. Cheryl Thompson, followed by a 1-hour showcase of Black student artists and performers currently enrolled at Ryerson, and a 1-hour networking and engagement session to end the evening.

Our goal is to have a dialogue around equity, diversity and inclusion in academia, and more specifically the creative industries. We want young people to see leaders, thinkers, and scholars who look like them at the front of an open space, like the Catalyst at FCAD and more broadly, Ryerson.
