Black Excellence at York University (BE YU) offers workshops, specialized events, mentoring and advising to support students in transitioning to York and reaching their post-secondary goals.

Whether you’re planning to apply to university next year, or still deciding what your next steps after high school might like look, find out how BE YU celebrates and supports the excellence of York’s Black student community.

BE YU: Academic Advising at York

In this session we’ll explore course loads, major requirements, and degree pathways. You’ll also learn about undeclared majors and how academic advising is offered in university.

BE YU: Successful Approaches to University Learning

Learn to successfully manage your time and excel at active, self-directed learning. We'll review how to effectively use your course outline, find motivation and access York's resources for academic success.
