About the guests:

Quincy Bullen

Quincy Bullen is an accomplished pianist, composer, producer, multi-instrumentalist (drums, bass, guitar, keys) and singer. Extraordinarily talented, with a great sense of timing, Quincy ‘wows’ audiences across Ontario and the Caribbean. His style is jazz with a funky vibe. His repertoire includes his own version of popular standards from jazz, R&B and soul as well as his original compositions. He has been a featured performer at many large music festivals and venues in Canada and the Caribbean. Quincy has been splitting his time between Toronto and LA. He also works as a producer and DJ. Quincy released a new album in July 2015 that highlights his love of jazz, electronic and house music along with his Caribbean roots and contemporary jazz sensibilities. Working with his father, Juno award-winner Eddie Bullen, Quincy released his first solo album, "On Q" in late 2010. It is mostly original material featuring: Larnell Lewis on drums, Alex Toth on bass and Rob Christian on sax. The album demonstrates Quincy’s funky jazz vibe and his sensitivity as a composer. Quincy is also in the process of developing a new album with his Father, Eddie tentatively called, ‘Like Father, Like Son’, which will be their first full-length CD, featuring compositions they have created together. This cd will merge the generations and highlight Quincy’s love of jazz, electronic and house music with his father’s Caribbean and contemporary jazz sensibilities. Quincy and his Dad are also continually refining their two-man show, 'Dueling Pianos – Father and Son' for the stage. Quincy is also touring and doing gigs with his musical partner, Rob Christian - they call each other ‘ brothers from another mother’. They receive praise for their camaraderie, multi-instrumental talents, singing and their ever-popular jams. Quincy is a founding member of the Quintessential Boys (a successful teen-jazz band). Quincy’s band now includes a mixture of up and coming musicians and seasoned jazz professionals.

Carlos Morgan

Solroc Music recording artist Carlos Morgan, a multi-award-winning singer, songwriter, producer and performer, is poised to break out on a global level.
Feelin' Alright, Morgan’s debut album, showcased the diversity of Morgan’s sultry singing style with seductive ballads like "Get Down To It" and "When Two Become One" to the upbeat R&B tracks "Give It To You" and "Baby C’Mon." Originally recorded as an independent release for DTone Records, it quickly became one of Canada’s hottest- selling independent albums, and topped the charts at #3 on The Records Independent Charts two weeks after its release. Feelin’ Alright went on to garner the JUNO Award for Best R&B/Soul Recording, 2x Canadian Urban Music Award recipient, MuchMusic Video Award for Best R&B/Soul Video, SOCAN Music Award and 2x Caribbean Cultural Committee Award recipient. Morgan’s sophomore CD, The Compilation, was released on his own label, Solroc Music, and features songs written and produced by Morgan and others, including James dePinho, Mystery & Matt Early, Colin Munroe and Peter Natale. It garnered Morgan the Best Male R&B Artist and the Role Model Certificate of Recognition at the 2014 Black Canadian Awards.
In 2013, Morgan won first place in the John Lennon “Gots 2 Luv U” Songwriting Contest. Two years later his song, "Just Jane," won first place for Best R&B/Soul Song & Video in November's The Akademia Music Awards. Morgan has shared the stage with Anne Murray, The Temptations, 112, Dru Hill and K-Ci & Jojo. After seeing him perform, Luther Vandross said, “Morgan reminds me of myself as a vocalist and when I was beginning my career. Morgan will go far in this business.” Morgan is releasing his new album, C.A.R.L.O.S., in fall 2016, and his new, ballad album, Rest Of My Life, on his label, Solroc Music, in winter 2017. He wrote and produced the albums' new songs along with songwriters and producers including Colin Monroe, AKA Subliminal and Corey Hart.
