BLACK HISTORY MONTH 2020: ROOTED

McGill Faculty of Law | 3644 Peel Street
The fourth annual celebration of Black History Month/Le Mois de l’Histoire des Noir.e.s at McGill and the first of the new decade will launch with an Opening Ceremony on Monday, February 3, 2020 from 5:30 PM - 9:30 PM at the McGill University Faculty of Law. This year's Black History Month is co-organized by The Office of the Provost and Vice-Principal (Academic), the Black Students' Network of McGill, and the McGill African Students Society (MASS) with generous support from across the university and city. The Opening Ceremony will feature remarkable speakers and talented performers with food and drinks provided. We are excited to announce that our keynote speaker is Professor Wendy Greene from the Kline School of Law at Drexel University. Stay tuned for details about entertainment!
Tickets for the Opening Ceremony will be released on January 28, 2020. There are limited seats so reserve your ticket ASAP. Childcare will be available and the venue is wheelchair accessible. For any questions or concerns, please contact Shanice Yarde at shanice.yarde@mcgill.ca.
The theme for Black History Month 2020 is Rooted and we look forward to collaborating with partners across McGill and Tio'tia:ke/Montreal to bring people together and host a month of events exploring the rooted past, present, and future of Black history.
