Event Description

You are invited to

BLACK HISTORY MONTH COMMUNITY RECOGNITION AWARDS GALA.

It has become an annual tradition that each year Pulchérie Mboussi on behalf of the Victoria African and Caribbean Cultural Society presents awards to several members of the Black Community who have distinguished themselves in the public, private, and community sectors.

The award is designed to honour distinguished residents of BC and surrounding cities who are a model for our community or who have made significant contributions to the social, political, religious, intellectual, and economic development of the Black community.

The award ceremony is to be held annually February.

''Every year, Canadians are invited to participate in Black History Month festivities and events that honour the legacy of black Canadians, past and present.''

''Canadians take this time to celebrate the many achievements and contributions of black Canadians who, throughout history, have done so much to make Canada the culturally diverse, compassionate and prosperous nation it is today. During Black History Month, Canadians can gain insight into the experiences of black Canadians and their vital role in the community.''
