Black Women Film! Canada is excited to offer a weekend writing retreat for Black women content creators in association with Canadian Film Centre (CFC), February 22 – 23, 2020.

As part of our on-going Elevate Master Class series, Black Women Film welcomes writers, director, filmmakers and creatives who are Black women identified to participate in a weekend that will get your creative juices flowing!

Lead by accomplished writers and facilitators Motion and Gillian Muller, we will focus on setting you on the path to flesh out new ideas and develop new scripts and pitch packages for long form serialized storytelling in a retreat style setting at the CFC. Our presenters will support you in creating your stories, scenes, concepts, outlines, beat sheets and pitch packages for the creation of tv, mini series or web series, and CFC experts will hear your pitches and offer feedback on your packages, with guidance on how to move your ideas forward.

Apply today for this highly subsidized opportunity made possible with support from Ontario Arts Council, Canada Council for the Arts and the Writers Guild of Canada.

This retreat will take place over two days and requires full attendance from all 10 participants who will make up this intimate writing journey.

Includes catered lunches and time to write or build on current scripts and fresh new series ideas. First come. First Served.

All experience levels welcome, this retreat is geared to folks actively seeking to write for series, develop their stories and who are seeking a community of support to get their scripts out there!
