Description

In this one-day workshop, we'll first explore today's ecosystem of blockchain technologies and take a look at a future with blockchain at its core. Then we'll get hands-on: you'll learn how to develop and deploy an Ethereum Dapp using Solidity and Truffle.

By the end of the day, you will understand the fundamentals of blockchain, have a working Ethereum Dapp to add to your portfolio, and be equipped with the foundation you need to dive deeper into your own blockchain development.

Project files will be available for participants after the workshop.

Coffee, tea and lunch will be included.

Prerequisites:

This is a technical workshop, ideal for developers. Participants should have:

  • A basic familiarity with object oriented programming

  • Familiarity with front end web languages (HTML/CSS/Javascript)

  • Understand the concept of databases

  • Be comfortable navigating the command line




Taught By:

Sage Franch is a seasoned technology educator, developer, and creator of tech lifestyle blog TrendyTechie.ca. She specializes in emerging technologies including blockchain, mixed reality, and cognitive computing, and is passionate about leveraging new technologies to build a better future. In her previous role as a Technical Evangelist at Microsoft, Sage worked with top academic institutions across North America to lead the adoption of cloud computing into technical curricula, and prior to that she was an educator at Microsoft Learning, where she built developer MOOCs on Microsoft technologies.
