Event description
The Region of Waterloo Museums are opening for select mornings this summer to offer exclusive events for you and your household bubble!

About this event

Join the museum’s Horticultural Specialist, Bob Wildfong for a special tour of our Heritage Gardens in bloom. For the past twenty years Bob has cared for the gardens in Doon Heritage Village. These gardens feature over 200 species of beautiful heritage plants. You’ll be given seeds to try your green thumb at home!

Waterloo County has a heritage steeped in the weaving tradition. After our garden tour, try your skill at weaving with a small take home craft with one our village interpreters outside the Weavery Shop.

Family Tickets are for up to 5 people within your household bubble. Space is limited. Tickets must be purchased in advance. You will also receive a Region of Waterloo Museum Family Pass to return later for another visit (value $25).

Facemasks are mandatory at all times while accessing this space.

Please note, the indoor galleries and washrooms remain closed in order to adhere to Provincial and Public Health guidelines.

Tickets are available for 60-minute bookings and capacity is limited to enable safety protocols that include physical distancing and cleaning.

COVID-19 Precautions in Place for Your Visit:

  • Reduced visitor capacity
  • One-way direction flow through village
  • Physical distancing maintained for all visitors and staff
  • Increased cleaning of common area surfaces
  • Availability of alcohol-based hand sanitizer throughout the village
  • We ask all visitors to wear a face mask to protect our staff and other visitors. Face masks, combined with hand washing and physical distancing can reduce the spread of COVID-19.
