About this Event
St. John Ambulance is committed to ensuring a safe training environment during your first aid course.
We are implementing several changes to the way we do training to help ensure that all physical distancing and health and safety requirements are being upheld according to health authorities.
You are required to self-isolate and cannot attend class if you say yes to any of the following:
Have you been outside of the Province or the Country within the last 14 days?
Have you been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the last 14 days?
Have you come into close contact with someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 or have you been informed by public health that you may have been exposed in the last 14 days?
Are you experiencing any of the following COVID-19 signs/symptoms?
Fever
Fatigue
Cough
Sneezing
Aches and Pains
Sore Throat
Runny nose
Diarrhea
Headaches
Difficulty Breathing
Please Read before attending the session:
Those who are experiencing the above signs/symptoms may not be allowed into the classroom and will be asked to be rescheduled to a future class at no cost or penalty. You must contact the branch at the latest by the next business day to re-schedule/receive credit.
Participants will be required to completed and sign a short self assessment and declaration at the beginning of each training day
Participants are required to maintain a minimum physical distance of 2 meters (6 feet) from all other persons in the class.
Each participant will be asked to stay in an assigned area as defined by the instructor for the entirety of the training session.
Participants are required to bring/wear a mask in class. Each participant is asked to bring their own mask, if you do not bring a mask one will be provided for you upon arrival at a cost of $2. – Cash only
We request participants to arrive 10 -15 minutes prior to the start time. Upon arrival you may be asked to wait outside of the door / waiting room to allow for social distancing while being greeted by the instructor.
If your training session is a full day, lunch break is usually 45 minutes.
There are no tables onsite as the classroom set up has changed.
Please bring a binder / clipboard and pen.
Please bring a blanket or yoga mat or need pad/garden pad for practical training
No food or drink in training room
Hand sanitizer will be made available, but we ask that participants bring their own hand sanitizer to minimize cross contamination.
We have modified our practical exercises to eliminate group work however you will still need to demonstrate knowledge and skill of first aid and CPR as required by both the W.S.I.B. and the Ministry of Labour
Please dress in a suitable attire as all participants must get down onto their knees to demonstrate CPR skills and other first aid skills as necessary.
