Blue: an Indigo Workshop
Come and join us for a day of learning, dipping and dyeing on beautiful Ironwood Farm. Indigo has been used as a dye all over the world for centuries. We will explore the mysteries and magic of this ancient blue dye. Spend a day “playing” with indigo and learning about the principles of Shibori. Through various methods of folding and clamping, binding and stitching, you can create your own unique textiles. A scarf and bag and a few test fabrics will be supplied. Please bring a thrift store item of your choice to up cycle into a new to you piece. Pack a lunch: Hot soup and snacks will be available. The workshop will be held in Ironwood Farms’ greenhouse: please dress warmly and in clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty. Beginners are welcome! Let the wild blue adventure begin!
