Event description
Bondage is a large part of BDSM Ideal for those who are just starting out or those who know the ropes & want to improve their skills

About this Event

Bondage is a large part of BDSM - it's what the “B” stands for, after all!

Come out and learn the basics of bondage! Ideal for those who are just starting out, or those who know the ropes, but want to improve their quick and effective ties. We will focus on rope bondage, but will also touch on favourites such as leather restraints, plastic wrap and tape bondage.

Safety first! We will take a look at what you need to know before you get started. Simple anatomy, how to engage in bondage safely and what to do in an emergency will be covered. We will focus on the fundamentals that you need to know to safely engage in floor (or bed) style bondage.

Get out your yoga mats because we get hands-on next. If you don’t have a mat, there will be a few extra that you can borrow, but its best to bring your own if you can. If you have preferred bondage rope, please bring that as well. A few different rope options will be available to borrow at the class.

We will start with a simple locking rope cuff that you can pre-tie before your scene begins. This helps eliminate nerves for beginners to bondage. The cuff won’t tighten around the wrist, ankle or anything else once you lock it into place, making it safer for those who like to struggle.

We will then move to the ever popular hog-tie, complete with modifications for those less flexible or with mobility impairments. A double collum tie, rope spreader bar and a practical wrist to thigh tie will round out the rope section of the workshop. These ties are designed to give you options that will work for both sex and play while being relatively simple to perform. Participants are also encouraged to improvise, combine ties and get creative!

Finally, we will explore plastic wrap mummification and other less common (but equally fun) bondage ideas.

This workshop is open to people of all skill levels and abilities. If you can’t get to the floor, modifications will be shown for alternative ties that better suit your needs. If you have any concerns about your ability to participate, feel free to reach out.

Presenter Bio:

Morgan Thorne has been practising BDSM all her adult life. She got an introduction to kink through the Queer community in the early 1990s and knew she had found ‘her people’.

Morgan has also spent a decade working as a Professional Dominant, which has allowed her to expand her skills as both a Top and a Dominant. Morgan has been offering workshops, lectures and BDSM training for a number of years as well. She has a successful Youtube channel where she educates about D/s relationships, BDSM basics and various kinky skills.

She is the author of two successful books about BDSM, including “Exploring BDSM: A Workbook for Couples (or More!) Discovering Kink“. A followup book is expected by the end of 2020.

Morgan identifies as both a Sadist and a Dominant. She enjoys playing with a variety of people of all orientations/genders/identities. BDSM is an integral part of her personal, romantic relationships. Morgan is both asexual and pan-romantic.

Prior to her work as a Professional Dominant, Morgan worked in health care. This has allowed her to gain a more thorough understanding of health and safety concerns in kink. She retired due to an injury that lead to chronic pain and disability. It also spurred her interest in medical play, a way to continue to use the skills she learned in health care and to find comfort in the loss of a much-loved career.

Morgan has been active in various forms of activism, including LGBTQIA rights and sex worker rights. She is a strong advocate for equality and the human rights of all people.
