It was like a "Ride Along"

I enjoyed this read as it made me feel as though I was there in the car experiencing the life as a Paramedic in a big city. The stories were short, concise and easy to follow. Luciano' style of writing made me want to get to the next story and see what might happen next. The part that left me wanting a bit was that in most cases there was no way to find out what happened to the clients they cared for. This made it clear for me that the Paramedics who pick us up of the street when we are injured, might often wonder about us as well. An enjoyable read. C

Excellent Book!

If you ever thought about becoming a Paramedic or were curious what a day in the life looks like, you must read this book. The best thing about it is that you can pick it up here and there and read a story, it doesn't need to be read all at once. This book will leave you with a better appreciation of what these heroes do every day! The exceptional courage it takes on a daily basis to go out there into the world and deal with the situations they deal with is unbelievable! I highly recommend reading this book!!

Well worth the read

This book is a must have for any library. Mr. Nisi helps fill a void that proves to be a disconnect between emergency services personnel and John Q. Public (in many cases). It opens one’s eyes to the real challenges and traumas, both physically and mentally, that these men and women undertake day in and day out. Ironically, we all hope we never require their services, yet most of us do at some point in our lives. If everyone were to read this book, maybe we would all have a better understanding of the ambulance service, the difficulties paramedics undergo on a daily basis and even the seemingly simple decision as to when to call for help and when to find one’s own way to the hospital! I appreciate the insight into the mind of a paramedic the author has provided, not to mention some good laughs in the process! Don’t forget to check out the Glossary – invaluable. Thank you Mr. Nisi.

Great read! Interesting. I recommend this book to all

Great stories of how paramedics do their jobs and the situations that come up for them. Easy to read. You can pick up the book, flip through it and choose a story that you feel like reading. No need to read from beginning to end like a novel. The stories are well written, some with a bit of humor added. I laughed out loud when I was reading the leg waxing story, and the guy with the sore tooth. Too funny. Some of the stories are also sad. I like the glossary at the end that explains the terms used.

I could not put it down

Great read! The stories were entertaining and well described. I could easily picture the scene and feel the action. Stories were sad, suspenseful, and some were hilarious. It really gives you a newfound respect for Paramedics and what they deal with daily. I think everyone should read this. You definitely learn a lot and gain a new perspective. I loved it!

Great insight into another world

This book was so easy to read. I loved how it was broken down into small stories providing the reader with an in-depth view into the world of a paramedic and the daily challenges they face. As a psychiatric nurse it was interesting reading about how emergency calls are handled from dispatch to patient care. In particular I was impressed with the high level of clinical care that was provided, and the various medical interventions that were employed in the different scenarios. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who would like a glimpse in the world of a paramedic.
