Come and enjoy BotQuest, our second ever Robotics Tournament offered at Angus Glen Library. You can register for free as an audience member or register a team to compete in the challenge described below for $70.

Team Registration:

A team can have up to 4 students (ages 8-15) and 1 adult Captain! During the tournament, every team will have an opportunity to participate in the challenge while a panel of judges evaluates every team. Teams should prepare their robots in advance to complete the challenge! Pizza and refreshments will be provided for the teams during the tournament.

Prizes:

  • First team: $100 gift card(s)

  • Second team: $50 gift card(s)

Story:

Your team has made the trek to the Grand Canyon to join the archaeologists in search of rare fossils to excavate. While exploring the caves and cliffs, your robot has gotten lost! Lucky, the previous team of archaeologists marked a path out of the cave system!

Challenge:

Teams must build a robot rover to autonomously navigate a maze. Students may use LEGO EV3, Arduino, or Raspberry Pi to program their robot. Each team has 3 minutes to complete the maze. The team with the highest score wins.

Path width: 35 cm

Maze length: 3.6 m

Maze width: 2.4 m

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Participants must be 8 to 15 years old (grade 4 to 8), except for the mentor/captain that must be of high school age or older.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

The parking areas surrounding the building are free. Public transportation is also available with TTC bus 68B and YRT bus 18 stopping at Angus Glen C.C. & Library.

What can I bring into the event?

You will need your ticket (printed or on mobile) and your team's robot!.

What's the refund policy?

Tickets are eligible for a full refund until the registration deadline.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

You can bring either your printed ticket or a mobile device with the Eventbrite receipt.

Can I update my registration information?

A: Yes, you can update your registration information through Eventbrite. Go to tickets, select your order, select edit, update and save your changes.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

Yes, you can transfer tickets through Eventbrite. Simply update your order information with the new attendee’s information.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

Yes, please update the attendee’s name on Eventbrite before the event or let one of the staff members know when you arrive.
