Description

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH BOUNDARIES?

Many times we don't even recognize our own boundaries until someone comes up against them. Maybe we're more familiar with the anger and frustration from ourselves or others that often shows up when we either set boundaries or wish we had.

"Boundaries are not about shutting people out. They are about letting people know who you are." - Reva Patwardhan

This workshop is for exploring and unpacking what the body knows about boundaries. We will work on getting clear on our body's wants and needs so that we can begin to communicate them clearly.

You can set boundaries with confidence. You can set boundaries without needing to justify them or defend them, and you can find your boundaries with a sense of both strength and softness.

It's important when we work with boundaries to talk about consent and how we say yes and no. When you grow up in a world that offers very little space for your no, it becomes very hard to become familiar with what your no even sounds or feels like (The same goes for your unequivocal, fulfilling yes). We need to spend more time connecting with our embodied YES and our embodied NO. We need space for our wants and needs to be recognized, voiced, and heard.

This is practice for real life.

To be able to slow down and listen to our innermost intuition. To be able to set and hold our boundaries. To get familiar with our yeses and no's, where they come from, and what it feels like to embody them. To be able to speak up and stand up for ourselves and others. We need more of all of this.

WHAT WE’LL DO TO GET TO KNOW OUR BOUNDARIES BETTER:

This is an experiential workshop. There will be gentle movement, meditation, partnered exercises, and group sharing and reflection to help you connect with your boundaries and grow your ability to communicate them.

*Important note* - this work is invitational. That means I invite you to participate in whatever way feels good to you. There is no forcefulness, no pushing, and no singling out. Courageous work can be subtle and gentle. I also believe that "bearing witness" counts as active participation and can be a rich learning experience for all involved.

Space will be limited to 12 participants to give everyone enough time to share.

FROM A PAST ATTENDEE:

“If you’re… craving connection with people who will understand you, who will be able to see you for who you really are, then go to this workshop. If you are feeling stuck or overwhelmed, let Erin guide you back to yourself and what already exists within you.” - AS
