Event description

Description

Chef Josh Blumenthal has dedicated his career to local, sustainable cuisine and exploring the wild edible landscape of the Pacific Northwest. Josh began his career as a kitchen porter in Edmonton, Alberta before his culinary passion led him to the West Coast, where he graduated with honours from Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts. In the years that followed Josh split his time between progressive, Michelin starred kitchens in the UK, Scandinavia and Northern California and some of Vancouver’s finest restaurants (West, Wildebeest, Bishop’s) as well as co-founding Elementa, a group who pioneered the city’s gastronomic pop-up scene.

A recent move to the Southern Gulf Islands has furthered Chef Josh’s connection to the coastal environment and natural bounty of his adopted home. By nurturing strong relationships with local farmers, foragers and artisans Josh has had the opportunity to explore and define the immerging, modern cuisine of costal British Columbia. Josh’s extensive culinary experience and passion for his natural and cultivated surroundings have culminated in his first solo venture The Trincomali Supper Club.

Co-hosting this special event with Chef Josh is Alexander McNaughton, professional forager, who will discuss the wild edibles featured in the dinner menu and answer any foraging questions!
