You are invited to join Lambton College’s Bio-industrial Process Research Centre (BPRC) for our first industry breakfast session on Wednesday December 4, 2019. These breakfast sessions will highlight opportunities and challenges facing your industry, provide a networking opportunity and demonstrate Lambton’s capacity to support the private sector.
BPRC as a Technology Access Centre (TAC), collaborates with industrial partners to support the development of new and existing bio focused technologies, products and processes.
The BPRC provides state of the art facilities and access to expertise in the following areas of research:
- Fermentation and Distillation
- Biofuels, Biochemicals & Biomaterials
- Pharmaceutical & Natural Health Products
- Cultivation, Extraction & Chemical Analysis
- Bioprocesses and Instrumentation & Process Control
- Digital Technology for Bioprocesses
Starting at 8:00 am on Wednesday December 4, BPRC’s industry breakfast will focus on the fermented beverages industry.
Our guest speaker will be Justin McKellar of Equals Brewing Company.
Equals Brewing, located in London, partners with other brewers and completes contract brewing and co-packing. Justin McKellar is the General Manager and Brewmaster at Equals.
Justin received a BSc in Biochemistry from the University of Waterloo and went on to complete a Master’s of Brewing and Distilling from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland. Justin spent a decade working at Labatt’s, after which time he brought his considerable expertise to Equals.
Justin will give a talk on “Production of De-Alcoholized Beer”.

8:55am - 9:30am: Closing remarks and tour of new Fermentation Lab available to those interested

- Small to large (40 L) fermentation reactors with online LC-MS and FTIR
- Post fermentation processing separation unit
- Biofuel Process Test Platform
- Biochemical Crystallization Test Platform
- Distillation equipment
