Open to the public interactive session about knee pain management and treatment options. First in the series of public health sessions offered by the Sport Medicine Centre, University of Calgary.

  • There is an option for each patient with knee problems. We will help you find the right option.
    • Navigating through the health system can be confusing and frustrating – The Sport Medicine Centre has tips to help with the process.

  • There are myths and misconceptions about treatment options for knee injuries (example, ultrasound for knees) – we will dispel these myths.
    • The Sport Medicine Centre will discuss how to know the treatment for your knee injury – Do you need to see a physiotherapist/athletic therapist or a physician, or both. Do you have to have surgery?

  • Who do you turn to for help? The Sport Medicine Centre will discuss where to go to get a diagnosis for your knee injury (chronic or acute).
    • Do you need to see a physiotherapist/athletic therapist or a physician, or both? Do you need to go to your family doctor, get and MRI, see a physio or your family doctor?
