Do you love beer?
Are you curious about the new era of experimentation and entrepreneurship in brewing?
Pull up a stool and learn how to make your own beer... at home!
We're brewing up something good! This January, join local chef and beer lover Sam Robertson as he teaches you the basics of beginner home brewing. This 2 hour workshop will demystify the process for the curious novice, leaving you with the skills and information to get started at home.
Sam, founder of Beer Chef Shop and an avid beer enthusiast, is more than willing to guide you in your quest for home brewing. Using a blend of demonstration and lecture, he will cover terminology, a brief history of brewing, beginner/intermediate techniques, and resources available to get you started. There will also be opportunity to ask questions and learn from Sam's extensive brewing wisdom, including (but not limited to) experimenting with local herbs, personal tips & tricks, craft beer pairings, and other delectables!
Microbrew basics is the 2nd in a series of workshops hosted by Hidden Harvest Ottawa in partnership with local community food enthusiasts. These workshops are intended to give you a sample of what can (and is) being done on a small scale with local food. If you're foraging for the perfect gift idea, we think you've found it!
Please come equipped with curiosity and a willingness to go home and try your hand at home brewing!
** There will be no official assigning of homework or brewing on site.**
