A little about the company.....

Little Brown Jug Brewing Company is proud to have the Brewmaster Bernard Wieland as part of their team.

Bernie grew up in Neepawa and Winnipeg, Manitoba. He has been a professional brewer for over 16 years. His brewing education began at the Siebel Institute of Technology in Chicago and he obtained a Master Brewer’s Diploma from the University of California – Davis.

Bernie was the founding brewmaster of Lake of the Woods Brewery in Kenora, Ontario. He has brewed at Vancouver Island Brewery, Fort Garry Brewery, and has worked at Half Pints Brewing Company.

Early in his brewing career, Bernie worked in Germany at Gilde Brauerei, where he learned to condition beer using the traditional German kräusening, or double-fermentation technique. He is excited to bring this expertise to beer at Little Brown Jug Brewing Company, beginning with ‘1919’, a Belgian Pale Ale recipe he created.

Currently they have 2 different beers to choose from; their original 1919 and new this year they are offering a seasonal Golden Ale.
