Event description

Description

This workshop takes a deep, courageous dive into the value and price of your creative practice using a narrative approach. It doesn’t matter which medium you work in, be it visual arts, music, sound design, or fashion, your ability to actualize and communicate your value with potential audience members significantly impact your interactions with them.

When it comes to the arts, the concept of money and courage are very infrequently in the same conversation, whether that be determining the value of your own time or the price of your work. This workshop explores your value as a creative entrepreneur by treading the line between creating for art sake and the process of taking your art to market to sell. In a perfect world, creatives would understand and be able to communicate their value succinctly and consumers of their art would gladly pay for it. Art and creative disciples are devalued, putting on onus on creatives to value their work and narrate (and often, fight for) that value to society. This workshop gives artists of all disciplines the toolkit to value themselves, their work and be able to share that narrative succinctly in our capitalistic society.
