Event description

Description

The pending technological revolution along with looming demographic trends is set to rapidly change the global economy. These changes will put unprecedented pressure on industries and businesses worldwide, and Ontario is no exception.

In an effort to mitigate this impact, educational institutions and industry sectors are building partnerships to develop curriculum programs with industry applications. Many in the field hope this approach will address the widening skills gap in the Canadian labour market. The Intergovernmental Committee for Economic and Labour Development commissioned Dr. Lok Bhattari to conducted a series of case studies on industry-academic partnerships in Ontario and identify areas for policy and program development.

We invite you to join us as we share the details of this report, followed by an opportunity to continue the analysis with a panel discussion on industry-post secondary partnerships. The discussion will include how these partnerships start, and the types of challenges faced when building and delivering these skills partnership models. Panelists will also comment on the policy opportunity to apply these skills development programs to a broader scale.
