Canada's Food Guide is one vision of a sustainable diet. It is intended to promote health and wellness through dietary change—leaving unanswered questions of access and food production.

  • How will the new Food Guide shape our food systems, or change where we get our food?

  • And what does this mean for local agriculture across our region?

For producers, community organizations, government, and eaters.

Join us in-person to hear a province-wide panel with conversation, discussion and next-steps.

Space is limited, please register for the event!

If you can't join us in person, you can join the video conference remotely at any time, by going to this link

________

The media discussion around the new Food Guide—like the conversations around 'sustainable diets', GMOs, pesticide use, food sovereignty or farmland preservation—is yet another food policy debate that affects us in our communities, and households. These debates take place in local municipal planning sessions, in election campaigns, in academia, media and social media, and soon at a National Food Policy Council.

  • How do we make sure that conversations and policy decisions aren't happening in isolation, or leaving people out, with contrary outcomes and recommendations for farmers, growers, harvesters and households.

  • How can you have your say, in a meaningful way?
