About this event

Bring Your Own Pumpkin // 3D Carving Workshop

Take your pumpkin carving game to the next level and create a spooky 3D creature to haunt and decorate your doorstep this Halloween! Carving tools and instruction provided.

IMPORTANT: Please purchase your pumpkin in advance! We cannot issue refunds if you were unable to purchase a pumpkin in time. We recommend purchasing a small to medium pumpkin. If you bring a large pumpkin you will not have enough time to finish carving. Additionally, please ensure your pumpkin is carvable (that is, capable of being carved).

** STUDENTS MUST BRING:

- a small/medium pumpkin

- a large bowl

- a spoon to scrape your pumpkin

- a sharp knife with a point (like a steak knife) for cutting out large shapes

- clothes you don’t mind getting pumpkin guts on!

- any reference images you may want to use (optional)

Carving tools provided.

Ages 15+ Max. 12 participants

WHEN: Saturday, October 30th 10 am – 1 pm

WHERE: Rehearsal Hall, Room 203, 2nd Floor, Tett Centre for Creativity & Learning

INSTRUCTOR: Floriana Ehninger-Cuervo

ABOUT: Floriana Ehninger-Cuervo is a graphic artist, screen printer and handwriting revivalist. She believes in the union of art and words, the small ways art can enhance everyday life, and finding the humour of the situation. Visit her studio at the Tett Centre!

PLEASE NOTE: Class size is limited to accommodate physical distancing measures. Students will be required to complete a self-assessment form prior to the class. Masks must be worn within the building at all times. Please wash and sanitize hands regularly, and maintain physical distancing. We are monitoring and following Health Canada and Kingston Frontenac Lennox and Addington (KFL&A) Health Unit recommendations.

As of September 22, 2021, visitors 12 years old and older will need to be fully vaccinated (two doses plus 14 days) and provide their proof of vaccination along with photo ID to access the events spaces at the Tett Centre. Any individuals who require an accommodation under the Ontario Human Rights Code with respect to vaccination status must provide approved supporting documentation. The Ontario government is also developing an app for businesses and organizations to scan the QR code on a holder’s vaccine certificate and to verify the contents of the QR code. This app will be ready in October.
