Bringing Baby Home
Relationship and Parenting Program
Designed for both pregnant and new parents, the Bringing Baby Home Program will give you the skills and information to recognize and cope successfully with the normal stressors of becoming a family.
The program teaches couples how to:
- Increase friendship in their relationship
- Deal effectively with conflict
- Involve dads in infant care and parenting
- Improve the quality of parent– infant interaction
- Recognize the psychological and emotional needs of their child
Built on over 40 years of research by Drs. John and Julie Gottman at the Relationship Research Institute in Seattle, Washington, this educational program airms to improve the quality of life for babies and children by strengthening the parental relationship. Saturday and Sunday, March18-19, 2017 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
There will be a one hour break for lunch each day.
Classes held at The Hub Family Resource Centre,10020 (B) Franklin Ave, Fort McMurray. Class size is limited, pre-registration is required.
Fees: This workshop is normally $250 per couple, but will be offered for FREE for residents of the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo!
Couples are welcome to bring infants not yet crawling to the workshop.
Melissa Redden is a certified Bringing Baby Home Program Educator, as well as a seasoned facilitator with prenatal, parenting and wellness workshops. Families enjoy her engaging and style and easygoing manner, and are happy to come away with easy to use tools to enhance their families and relationships.
