Event description

Description

This workshop is adminitstered by the University of Manitoba Student Support Office. It is being offered for all members of UMSU recognized Student Associations and Councils for the purpose of fulfilling the Consent Culture Attendance requirement (Section XXII of the UMSU Governance and Operations Manual).

You don't need to bring anything to the event aside from a pen/pencil, and an open mind! No ticket is needed, as this is just a way for us to track RSVPs.

Description of the workshop: "Bringing in the Bystander: A Prevention Workshop for Establishing a Community of Responsibility® An interactive, effective SEXUAL ASSAULT PREVENTION workshop for everyone!

Bringing in the Bystander® is an effective, interactive prevention workshop that is based on the concept that ALL community members have a role to play in ending sexual violence. Student participants learn the importance of speaking out against social norms that support sexual violence, become aware of and identify potential risks in various situations, develop empathy and support for survivors, and explore how to safely interrupt or intervene in situations that could lead to sexual violence."

For questions/inquiries, please contact UMSU Vice-President Advocacy Allison Kilgour at vpa@umsu.ca
