With British Columbians going to the polls in a matter days amid a still-unfolding pandemic, the stakes are high in this remarkable provincial election. SFU's Department of Political Science has assembled a panel of experts to look at how the election has unfolded and to break down key policy issues, from the environment, to housing, and beyond.
This roundtable will cover a number of topics in a wide-ranging discussion, and panelists will take audience questions as well.

Panelist and Moderator Bios
Mario Canseco is the president of Research Co., a BC-based polling company and has analyzed and conducted public opinion research since 2003. He has designed and managed research projects for clients across the private and public sectors, as well as non-profit organizations and associations.
Josh Gordon is an assistant professor at SFU's School of Public Policy whose recent research has focused on the Canadian housing market, especially the housing markets in Toronto and Vancouver. He is frequently quoted in external news outlets and has written multiple op-eds for the Globe and Mail.
Kathryn Harrison is a professor at UBC’s Department of Political Science whose expertise lies in environmental, climate, and energy policy, federalism, and comparative public policy. In addition to publishing extensively in the areas of Canadian environmental policy, science and politics, and the comparative politics of climate change, she is a regular commenter in print and broadcast media, and has written numerous op-eds published in the Vancouver Sun, Globe and Mail, and Macleans. She has also advised local, provincial, and national governments.
Mark Pickup is a professor at SFU's Department of Political Science. A specialist in Political Behaviour, Political Psychology and Political Methodology, Pickup's research focuses on political information, public opinion, political identities, norms and election campaigns within North American and European countries.
Stewart Prest is a lecturer at SFU's Department of Political Science. His areas of interest include Canadian politics, civil conflict, state/society relations, democratic institutions, and civic literacy in contemporary political contexts.
Shannon Waters is a legislative reporter at BC Today. Waters got her start in journalism in Prince George as a radio journalist and news director. She is also a regular contributor to the Politicoast podcast.
