About this event

What do you get when three ladies of a certain age and temperament have their way with jazz, cabaret, and showtunes, all sprinkled with a tasty amount of humour throughout? The answer is Broadsway – the brilliant combination of three uber-talented “Broads”: Dora Mavor Moore Award-nominee Diane Leah, JUNO-nominee Heather Bambrick, and international touring Jazz artist Julie Michels. In Broadsway, they bring their respective musical talents together with the repertoire of the Theatre, the improvisational spirit of Jazz, and a heaping serving of humour to create a show that is immeasurably entertaining!

From the moment they first hit the stage together - more than 11 years ago - Broadsway has been creating quite a buzz (as well as a steadily growing fan base) in every venue they’ve played, from Roy Thomson Hall and the Jazz Bistro in Toronto, to Birdland and the Metropolitan Room in New York. They’ve been featured in some of Canada’s top Jazz and Cabaret festivals, as well as various concert series and feature presentations. Broadway has released two full-length recordings: Old Friends and The Most Wonderful Time … Maybe which was hailed as “the musical version of the best office Christmas party ever!” (Mark Rheaume, CBC).

Their music features a range of Jazz and Theatre, to Pop, Rock, and even Classical ... all delivered with passion, power, playfulness, and plenty of humour! Besides their original trio and quintet shows, they’ve also created a Holiday show (The Most Wonderful Time … Maybe) and a symphony show (Broadsway on Broadway), the latter being performed with the Windsor Symphony Orchestra, the Richmond Hill Symphony, and the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra. Wherever they perform, Broadsway delivers a show that truly has something for everyone!
