Make your lunch hour truly powerful! Bring your lunch and attend a “brown bag” seminar, presented by CPA Alberta Career Services. Each month we cover a different career development topic. Join us January 22, 2017, for a session on getting information to assist internationally trained accounting professionals. The session will include an overview of the CPA Canada endorsed modules:
Guide to accounting business culture: Adapting to the Canadian accounting workplace
Overview:
CPA Canada has created accounting specific resources to assist internationally trained accountants with workplace integration. This session will be useful to those hiring and working with internationally trained professionals, to enhance organizational diversity, as well as newcomer accountants to Canada who could benefit from completing the training. The series of 7 modules cover a variety of topics including:
- writing an effective accounting resume
- developing strong interview skills
- giving and receiving appropriate feedback
- tackling challenges in the workplace
- recognizing and facing ethical dilemmas
In the seminar, you will learn how to:
- Access and promote the modules to internationally trained professionals
- Recieve a live demo of the modules and how they interact with the user
- Understand what topics are covered and how a professional who completes this series of modules can enhance their resume.
