Event description

Description

There's nothing like an evening walk in late spring. Most of the leaves have opened, flowers have begun to blossom, and the days grow longer.

It's a perfect time for a photo walk.

Let's meet in the Byward Market, in the little square at Sussex Drive and York Street, at 7:30. We'll walk up the stairs across the street and wander Major's Hill Park, the National Gallery, and Nepean Point, before crossing the Alexandre Bridge. We'll then wander Jacques Cartier Park, in Gatineau, and make our way to the Macdonald-Cartier Bridge, where we'll cross back into Ottawa and down Dalhousie, back into the Byward Market.

Bring whatever photography equipment you care to carry. A tripod is not essential but is strongly recommended.

I expect the walk to take about two hours. Depending on the weather and your enthusiasm, we can linger and take night photos, including light streaks (vehicles moving and slow shutter speeds). Optionally, we can pick a pub and have a celebratory pint before ending.

This photo walk is dependent on weather. Ideally, I'd like a clear night but we will still meet if it is overcast. If it is raining, however, or is threatening to rain, we will have a rain date of Friday, June 15.

I hope to see you there!
