Event description

Description

On 17th July 2017, my youngest son was involved in a freak car accident just minutes from our home. He was flown by STARS to the University of Alberta Hospital, where our experience of organ donation began.

You are six times more likely to need an organ than to donate one; it may surprise you to learn of the challenges to actually donate organs. If you found yourself on the transplant wait list you would probably be horrified to learn that only 8% of Albertan's are currently registered donors. You may not even realize that signing your Universal Donor Card, although a wonderful thing to do, is not the same as being a registered donor.

Please join me so I can raise your awareness of organ donation and try to inspire and help you to register as an organ donor.

Proudly supported by Griffin Taekwondo

You are kindly asked to remove footwear, if you are physically able to do so, to help keep the facility clean for classes

FAQs

Are there minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Due to the nature of this discussion younger children may find it upsetting.

How can I contact the organizer with any questions?

Please email questions to Bryns.Story@gmail.com and I will respond as quickly as I can.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

Yes, feel free to pass on your invitation if you are unable to attend. Please do not invite others as I need to know how many are coming, but do encourage others to register themselves so they can join us!
