Description

Weekend with Don Handrick

October 14 & 15 10:00 am - 4:30 pm

Many of life’s difficulties and complications are products of our own negative habitual or compulsive thoughts and actions, but these patterns need not control our lives. In this weekend course, we will examine a variety of these persistent and destructive patterns in order to learn how to disempower them and activate new behaviors rooted in truth and genuine well-being. Buddha’s unique profound wisdom brings to an end even the suffering of old age, sickness and death. The workshop will end with an introduction to, and a practice for cultivating this profound wisdom.

Don Handrick has been studying Buddhism for over 20 years. He is a graduate of FPMT’s Masters Program of Buddhist Studies, a seven-year residential study program aimed at transposing the rigor of the Tibetan Geshe program to the West. He has received teachings from many esteemed and precious lamas in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, including His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Lama Zopa Rinpoche, Ribur Rinpoche, Choden Rinpoche, and Khensur Jampa Tegchok. He is the resident teacher of our FPMT sister center in Sante Fe, Thubten Norbu Ling. Don is highly admired by his students for his humility, kindness, and clarity of instruction.
