Venting & Waterproofing Strategies: Part 9 Buildings by Julio Reynel
Understanding the requirements on how to properly vent the roof space of a residential or small building can be challenging. With so many different types of roof structures - Flat roofs, sloped, roof top patios, vaulted, scissor and conventional attics - the strategy described in the BC building code, although simple, can present various issues when comes time to build the roof. In this presentation, we will discuss the code requirements as well as the various strategies one can implement on all roof structures. Also, we will discuss how different types of waterproofing membranes can be utilized when designing a roof based on its intended purpose.
