VISUAL ART
Brenda Dunn from https://www.artinjest.com/
Brenda Dunn has been getting in trouble for crayoning on the walls for as long as she can remember. She eventually went to art school at the University of Guelph and drew on whatever the hell she wanted.
She works and plays in Ottawa where she came for grad school and just stuck around ever since. She learned a lot of busy words during her Masters in English Literature, but it turns out she actually prefers the visual to the verbal when it comes to communication.
She makes things and also makes things happen. You can see both at artinjest.com or rifle through her digital sock drawer @artinjest on facebook, twitter and instagram.
She also doesn't totally get why these things are always written in the third person but concedes that it does just sort of feel right.

MUSIC
Colleen Jones (Bassist/Vocals) from https://sparklesaurus.com/
Like glitter-infused jelly on toast, Ottawa’s Sparklesaurus spreads their shimmering sounds. The sounds can be described as living room dream pop - pairing the emotional rawness of garage with the lush tonalities of glam, set in a low-lit, carpeted living room. Cut into triangles with the crust left on, their self-released debut EP, titled 'Perennials', delves into dark truths about humanity through plant imagery and concentric wordplay - with an undercurrent of gentle optimism. These themes are set amidst a landscape of scaling synths, swirling guitar tones, colourful harmonies, and a stoney, muscular rhythm section.
