Building a Professional Team for Your Business
Event Information
Description
When you first start a business, you may ask yourself whether it is best to hire people to help you or to do everything yourself. Even if you plan on starting off mostly on your own, it is important to create relationships with financial professionals (a banker and an accountant) and a legal professional in order to ensure the financial security and legality of your business operations. Depending on your own skillset, you may also want to hire employees to look after aspects of the business that you are not qualified for or do not have time to oversee. In this module Building a Professional Team for Your Business, you will learn:
a) What to consider when building a professional team
b) How to build a basic professional team including a lawyer, accountant, and banker
c) How and when to hire employees
This session is hosted by the Wood Buffalo Economic Development Corporation (WBEDC) and facilitated by Keyano College, this is the third in a series of ten workshops exploring the topic of starting a small business in Wood Buffalo.
We recommend bringing a laptop.
