Steve Woolrich will be speaking about building bridges within communities, community safety and CPTED friendly spaces.
Steve was born and raised in Calgary and now resides in Victoria, BC. He is committed to Community Safety, Prevention & Wellbeing. With nearly 30 years of experience, he has established a reputation for excellence in his professional pursuits. Steve offers a specialized lens and vision of community safety through his broad background, training, and work experience in policing, corrections, corporate security, safety assessment and consultation. Steve is a sought-after practitioner and Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) trainer, including Crime Free Multi-Housing. His prevention approaches to support social connection and build community are people-centered, creative and collaborative - implementing restorative practices, activating arts & culture and inspiring compelling environments.
Steve studied Justice Administration, majoring in Police Science at Mount Royal University. He completed additional studies at Kean College, New Jersey while working with the New York Police Department as part of his practicum during the summer of 1984. He has worked across Canada and overseas, and continues to embrace a life-long approach to learning.
