4-part guided series using a sharing circle and journaling. Reconnect with your own unique sense of self and knowing of what brings you joy.

About this event


At a time when we are craving connection with each other, many of us have also been struggling to connect with our best selves, especially as the pandemic has impacted our identities in many ways (work, family, social, spiritual).


This 4-part series aims to support a group of up to 20 people reconnect with themselves. Using guided discussion, a sharing circle and tools such as journaling, the series will support participants arrive at a place of feeling more connected to their own unique sense of self and what brings them joy.

An overview of the series:

Session 1: (June 17th)

  • Introductions to each other and to the series.
  • Guided discussion on becoming our best selves and deepening our relationship with ourselves.
  • Introduction to journaling. Participants will be invited to use a journal that they will continue to use through the remainder of the series (and beyond).

Session 2: (June 24th)

  • Sharing Circle and guided discussion on feeling safe and building trust with ourselves and others

Session 3: (July 8th)

  • Guided discussion on identifying what you carry that does not serve you

Session 4: (July 15th)

  • Final session. Sharing Circle and guided discussion on finding your joy and walking on as your best self


The series is will be done virtually with the use of Zoom. Each session is 60 mins long and will be guided by Dalannah Bowen.

Participants will receive a Zoom link via email to access the sessions.

Participants will need access to a journal and pen and ideally a space that allows them to be free from distractions for the 60 minutes.


This session is free of charge and open to anyone who is looking to reconnect with themselves and with others. The supportive climate of these sessions is one of compassion, safety and respect.

About Dalannah Bowen

Dalannah is a 75 year old Afro-Canadian Cherokee force of nature. She is a prolific singer, songwriter, actress, play writer, story teller, event producer, and social activist. She formed the Circle of Grandmothers of the Downtown Eastside to bring a Traditional Grandmother approach to healing the community, through weekly sessions of teachings, meditation, and art and wellness. The Circle of Grandmothers was the inspiration behind this series.
