Building Resilience through Self Compassion
Event Information
About this Event
Compassion allows us feel connected with others and less alone.
Compassion is actually contagious and as we learn to have compassion for ourselves this automatically extends out to others.
With mindfulness practice expanding, this increases awareness of our experience. "What do I know? What am I experiencing? " With new awareness the next question that follows is "What do I need?"
Many studies now show the multitude of benefits that are a result of self compassion.
Self compassion is associated with increased well-being, happiness, life satisfaction, coping, emotional resilience, emotional intelligence. It's also associated with decreases in stress, anxiety, depression and shame. Improved immune functioning and also healthy behaviors such as maintaining a healthy diet and exercise, as well as closely associated with more satisfying relationships that are collaborative and compassionate
