Event description
A hands-on workshop to help your business get ready for an emergency - big or small.

About this Event

Join the City of New Westminster and the New West Chamber of Commerce for a hands-on workshop aimed at small business owners or managers looking to make sure plans are in place for their business so that an emergency doesn't disrupt their revenue or services.

This workshop features Lisa Benini, of Benini Consulting, who has more than 20 years experience leading businesses in developing business continuity plans. Joining Lisa will be representatives from the Insurance Burea of Canada, Canopy Privacy, IPREM, and others to be announced. This workshop will be about 3 hours long. All participants will be supplied with a workbook and other materials to take home and continue to build out.

Refreshments:

Coffee, tea and small treats will be provided.

Transit and Parking:

Anvil Centre is located at 777 Columbia Street, which is right across from New Westminster SkyTrain station. There is some underground paid parking and access to EV charging stations, however depending upon what else is happening at Anvil Centre and the Anvil Office Tower, parking can be limited.

Accessibility Information:

Anvil Centre Theatre is an accessible venue. It is located on the 3rd Floor of Anvil Centre. Accessible men's and women's washrooms are down a wide hallway close by and a gender neutral washroom is one floor down. The workshop will take place at banquet tables, with lots of room between them with 8 chairs at each table. The presentation is in English and will be on a large projected screen at the front of the room, and can be supplied to you in advance with annotations - just let us know if you need it. The workshop also includes workbook time where participants will fill out sections with their own customized information - if you'd like this in advance we can also provide that. Otherwise, participants will get a printed copy upon arrival. The theatre does offer Hearing Assist - just let us know if you require a unit. If there is anything you require in order to more fully participate in this workshop or if you'd like to ask a question for something we haven't mentioned, please do reach out to the event organizer, Jen Arbo, at jarbo@newwestcity.ca.
